Hoping to get a Gibson Dirty Fingers in the bridge and maybe a PAF Pro in the neck as well as some better looking knobs. Some big plans for this one as I can work on it. I did this on my Fender Stratocaster and it seems to work well and I believe it has helped add some sustain. Lastly though I don’t know if it needed it, I added 2 more trem springs to the already fully tightened system to make sure that the trem is decked and will not move making it essentially a hard tail. New pickup adjustment screws from Di Marzio and also the black switch tip off an Ibanez. The chrome knobs it had were mismatched so I swapped them out with the old knobs from my Squire Bass VI. A INF3 in the neck and a INF4 in the bridge. So far in this project I have swapped out the stock pickups for a set of Ibanez INF pickups. The guy I bought it from said he thought it was from 1999 and it seemed like the fret board was not cleaned since then, though it was the first thing he suggested I do. No real bad scratches, and no dents, Just needed a few odds and ends and a really good cleaning. Luckily I was browsing the musical instruments section on craigslist and came across this Jackson JS1 (I assume it is a JS1 but I do know it is in the JS series of Dinky guitars). Jackson JS1 Dinky (Pickup swap/ Parts Swap) – Jackquirebanez – In Progress/Not Final There may be a few upgrades later on such as a new Neck from Fender, New bridge/saddles, and hopefully he get’s new tuners. Both the pickguard and back cover are also new in a nice black pearloid. This guitar is sporting all new hardware from DIMarzio from the 5-way switch, to the 500K Pots. So I had to open them up a bit wider with a router and drill new holes to mount the pickguard. The pickguards holes were not in the right places and some not even big enough holes. Ireland made ibanez jem copy full#I had to pretty much do a full custom job on this guitar. It was a bit easier and harder than I thought. I finally got around to my friends Squire Affinity Strat that had been laying around for a couple of months. Squire Affinity Series Strat (Complete Rewire/ Hardware Change) But I have been really curious about this Dragonfire Crusader, as I am considering getting a set of these for my pink Squier Affinity Strat. I didn’t get to really test out the guitar much after the swap. It was an easy enough swap though since it was just a two wire single coil. I don’t know if someone had already gone through the wiring before I got to it, but the ground wires soldering looked really bad. For being an American made guitar it doesn’t seem that well made. I have never been a big fan of Peavy or any of their products, but I was asked to swap out the stock neck pickup in this vintage Peavy Tracer. Kind of wish they still made them like this today. This is amazing guitar and had such a nice feel to it. For some reason one of the pickups had extremely low volume when one of the coil splits was activated but I somehow got it working. I really didn’t do much other than re-solder the grounding wires on this guitar. One of my brothers more recent purchases was this 1976 Ibanez Custom. Ireland made ibanez jem copy mod#I am always looking to take on new projects so please feel free to contact me about possibly having me mod a Guitar or Bass. Here I will post my actual guitar modding (pickup swaps, and painting). ![]() Since I don’t quite have the skill and tools to make guitars from scratch I have started by modding my own guitars as well as my brothers and friends.
